How the Idea for Bandit's Huggie was Born

Sometimes the most thoughtful innovations come directly from our community.

At Indie Boho, we’re always listening, whether it’s feedback on products, design details, colour palettes or ways we can improve the overall experience. Customer insight plays a big role in how our brand evolves. But every now and then, an idea comes through that’s especially clever.

When Linda reached out about her Double Booster Seat, she shared a simple yet effective solution she’d created for her tiny Chihuahua, Bandit. Like many small dogs, Bandit can be a little wriggly in the car, occasionally twisting around during the journey. To make things more comfortable, Linda made a soft cover that slides over the tether strap, helping to reduce tangling and create a gentler contact point.

We loved the ingenuity of it and with Linda’s approval, we set out to refine the concept into something we could offer more broadly.

That’s how the Huggie came to life.

Made from the same velour lining as our booster seats, the Huggie is designed to scrunch along the strap, creating natural bulk and softness. This simple detail adds an extra layer of comfort, particularly for smaller or short-haired dogs, and can be especially helpful for those who tend to move around a little more on the road.

It’s a small addition, but one shaped by real-life use. And a reminder that the best ideas are often shared.
